This blog will grip you

The novel that promises to grip you from the moment you start, glares one tweet on my feed. I follow many Tweeters, some I suspect are probably bots. Most of it is about writing or about writers or they are by writers. Obviously, all extremely aspirational and enviable from where I stand.

And then, there is a stream that comes in of new authors. As in twitter feeds promoting books (the ones I suspect are bots). They all look and feel the same. They have glorious, sweeping epic-like names. They have somewhat tacky looking covers. (I have historically judged books by their covers and wine bottles by their labels and have been accurate ninety percent of the time in both cases). And above all, they have a click bait like blurb that goes with the tweet put down by the bot/ person. Like the one I mentioned above. No point in putting down any other examples since they all sound the same.

But then, who am I to critique others. At least, they wrote a book. That itself would have been a herculean task. Something not too many of us can claim to be able to do any way. Case in point: this blog and the rather diminutive attention it receives from me.
